All households should have access to reliable and internet-ready devices. Riverside County residents can take advantage of the following opportunities:

RUSD Family Resource Center:

The Riverside Unified School District (RUSD) Family Resource Center offers free refurbished computers to RUSD parents who complete eight (8) hours of basic computer instruction. Eligibility is based on annual household income.

CARES Laptop Program: 

Provide one free laptop per household upon the completion of five workshops through Credit.org or enrollment in Riverside County Workforce Development services. Applicants must be residents of Riverside County and meet income limits for the combined household income.

Human I-T: 

Offers high-quality, low-cost computers, tablets and hotspots for both individuals and organizations. Low-income families may be eligible for an additional discount with proof of eligibility.

Computers 2 Kids (C2K):

C2K offers desktops systems and laptops starting at $100. Each system inlcudes a headset, webcam, Wi-Fi adapter (desktops only), antivirus software, Microsoft software, and unlimited free technical support. The online application can be found here

PCs for People: 

Provides refurbished computers to eligible customers for affordable prices. Check here for eligibility requirements.

Computers With Causes:

Provides refurbished donated computers to educational programs, foster homes, and disabled veterans in need. Does needs assessments and background checks to ensure computers go to those truly in need.

The On It Foundation:

Provides free computers, computer training, and internet access to low-income K-12 students in the U.S. who receive free or reduced school lunches. Parents/guardians can apply by mailing a signed letter requesting a computer along with proof of lunch assistance to [email protected]

 

Device Loaner Program

Any Riverside County resident who is at least 18 years of age and has an active RCLS card in good standing may borrow a Chromebook from any participating RCLS library.
